## Research and method

Research about property value always has a period, definition, source and method. An average sale price, WOZ value, asking price and valuation value answer different questions. A number gains meaning from the context in which it was collected.

### How we read figures

For each publication, we look at the reference date, geographic scope, population, source and limitations. Official information from the [Waarderingskamer](https://www.waarderingskamer.nl/) or the [Dutch government](https://www.government.nl/topics/housing) may serve a different purpose from an individual valuation report.

Use research to formulate questions. Align a specific valuation or financing decision with the current requirements of the relevant authority or professional.
